Sid W. FoulgerSid Foulger has been a leader in construction, engineering, and property management for more than four decades. He has guided the Foulger-Pratt organization throughout this period, overseeing the firm’s expansion of services in construction, development, and management and its growth and success as one of the metropolitan Washington region’s most active and experienced firms.

A mechanical engineering graduate of the University of Utah, Mr. Foulger began his career as an engineering consultant after serving in the engineering division of the United States Navy during World War II. He later reorganized the architectural design and construction division of one of the nation’s most prestigious hotel chains. In 1963, anticipating the unparalleled growth of the Washington area for years to come, he established Foulger & Co.

In the 1970s, the company became known as Foulger-Pratt, and Mr. Foulger’s sons and son-in-law joined the operation. Today, the privately held company continues to be managed by a devoted group of family executives representing broad-based expertise in each of the organization’s core businesses.

The organization has achieved many successes through the years, ranging from the construction of the landmark Washington, D.C. Temple in Kensington, MD, to the comprehensive revitalization of downtown Silver Spring, MD—one of the region’s foremost models for public/private redevelopment initiatives.
